Relocating My Wedding Business To Vancouver Island

After a decade of serving wedding videography to couples in Alberta, I have made the very exciting decision to relocate my business to Vancouver Island.

As much as I love the landscapes and the wilderness of this extraordinary province, my heart is always going to be with the ocean. I dream of beach elopements, sand between my toes and the ocean breeze dancing through my hair.

Moving a wedding business takes careful planning, because in this industry couples often book us 12-18 months in advance. I knew I had to stop taking bookings in my current city, which is a scary thing to consider as a business owner! For a decade, I’ve been building a network of trust with couples and vendors here. But I knew if I didn’t take the plunge now, I would be faced with the same dilemma next season.

So I stopped filming weddings in Edmonton. I spent six months working with Ideaction Consulting on a complete rebrand of my business, to start afresh in my new home. They made me this beautiful website and I am so excited to publish it.

For the past five years, I’ve been operating behind a company name, and I knew that needed to change too. I want to be known by my own name again. This work is so personal and intimate, that I want people to know exactly who I am and what their experience will be.

In a month’s time, I will be living on the West Coast. It’s more than a dream come true for me, it’s like returning my soul to its home. I have so many ideas about how I can take my wedding films to new heights, and create in new ways. I will be an even better wedding videographer out there.

It’s so easy to forget how much our external environment affects us every day. There is no place on Earth I would rather call home than Vancouver Island.
